Booking UX, mobile performance, and search-ready structure

A med spa website has two jobs: turn a visitor into a booking, and be something Google and ChatGPT can find and quote. Good medical spa website design starts there, before anyone argues about the homepage.

A beautiful site with no way to book and no procedure pages leaves money on the table. Below is what to fix first, and a free way to see your own gaps.

A strong booking pathMakes these things easy to find: a scheduling button above the fold, a page for each treatment, published prices or a clear “what's included”, real before-and-afters, reviews, and fast mobile pages.

What we measured, and what many med spa sites were missing

12 of 18Scottsdale mobile-speed scanscored in the red (below 50) on Lighthouse's mobile performance test.
55%187 clinics · 10 metrosshowed no procedure price as plain text, and only about 1 in 12 showed all three decision-useful facts we measured (price, a credentialed provider, and candidacy). Many still left basic decision information missing from the page.
383GA4 · 12 monthsvisits attributed to AI-assistant referrals to a clinic we work with, 338 of them from ChatGPT. Real sessions, not impressions or model output. We report that referral traffic separately; it does not tell us which individual site changes caused it.

We also ran the kind of local med spa query a patient would use in ChatGPT. It named a clinic in a dated test. We cannot see inside the model, so instead of claiming why it chose them, here is what was publicly available when we ran the test: procedure pages with the treatment and price on them, consistent clinic information across Google and the site, pages accessible to OpenAI's crawler, and independent third-party sources confirming the clinic.

What should be easy before a patient books?

A handful of concrete things should be effortless to find.

01

A clear booking path: a scheduling button or form prominently displayed above the fold on mobile, so clients seeking a treatment reach the booking flow from the first screen.

02

Price or “what's included” on the page: in our scan of 187 clinics, 55% showed no procedure price as plain text, and showing it removes one decision gap and lets a patient compare without another call or click.

03

The provider: a short team page with real, credentialed providers.

04

Expected result and candidacy: who the treatment is for and what is realistic.

05

Mobile speed.

06

Real before-and-afters and reviews as proof.

Walk your own site as a first-time visitor: land, understand, and find the booking flow, or leave.

What should a med spa website actually do?

Most medspa websites are built to look expensive. That is the wrong first question. A med spa website has two jobs, and both are measurable. The first is conversion: a visitor lands, understands what you offer and what it costs, and books. The second is visibility: Google can rank the page and ChatGPT can name you.

Design serves both. A calm color palette, a consistent color scheme, and clean web design matter because they build trust for an aesthetic practice, and because a cluttered page hurts the user experience and buries the one thing that earns money, the booking. If the site looks beautiful and no one schedules, the design has failed at its actual job.

Why does a med spa need a page for each procedure?

A generic “Services” page rarely gives botox, filler, and laser hair removal each enough depth and relevance to compete well across those different searches. Google ranks specific pages for specific searches, and ChatGPT can cite specific pages.

A page per treatment serves both: it competes for the exact search, and it gives an AI the exact facts to cite (treatment, price, provider). This is where web design and search engine optimization stop being separate projects.

The structure that makes a site easy to navigate for a patient, so they easily find the treatment they came for, is the same structure that makes it easy to find for a search engine. Build the structure properly from the start and you reduce the amount of search work that has to be retrofitted later.

How do you make the site SEO and GEO-ready from day one?

Four things, set up while you build, not bolted on later.

01

Clean page structure, one page per procedure.

02

Use LocalBusiness and relevant service structured data to describe the clinic clearly to search engines, keep the same facts visible in plain text, and make sure AI search crawlers can reach the page.

03

Speed, especially on mobile.

04

Text written so an AI can quote it: a direct answer, a number, a plain “what's included”.

Do it at launch and you avoid having to retrofit basic search and AI accessibility later. It does not guarantee rankings or AI placement.

Why do speed and mobile matter so much for a med spa?

Many patients reach you from a phone. A slow med spa website can lose a visitor before she books and can waste the paid clicks that land on it.

Speed is a baseline requirement, and mobile speed most of all. Test important pages on mobile with PageSpeed Insights or Lighthouse, use the result to find the obvious bottlenecks, and check real-world Core Web Vitals where enough field data exists.

Redesign or a new site: which do you need?

Not every site needs to be thrown out. If the structure is sound and it just needs procedure pages, faster loading, and a visible way to book, that is a fix, not a rebuild. A full new build makes sense when the structure fights you at every turn and patching costs more than starting clean. We will tell you which one you actually need, in the Snapshot, before you commit.

When you do move, we preserve valuable URLs and content where possible; when a URL has to change, we map each old page to its closest equivalent with a 301 redirect, preserve internal links, and monitor Search Console after launch, so a redesign does not throw away the traffic you already earned.

How it works

Free visibility check

A quick read on whether there is a problem and where to look first: is there a page per procedure, is booking and price visible on mobile, how fast the site loads, and whether ChatGPT names you.

$290 Snapshot

A written diagnostic you keep: the site's conversion and AI-readiness gaps, whether you need a fix or a rebuild, a competitor baseline, and the repeated AI test (named in X of N). Credited toward your first retainer month if you start within 60 days.

We build

Procedure pages, a clear path to book, speed, schema, and AI-readiness, in a clear order.

Launch and measure

We establish the post-launch baseline. A one-time build ends here, yours to keep. If you continue on a retainer, monthly reporting includes Search Console, local visibility, and named-in-X-of-N AI tracking. No inflated dashboards.

Who is behind this

By Tatiana Pechenikina

I have spent about ten years in SEO, four of them working only with med spas, running search and promotion for aesthetic clinics from the inside. I started out as a designer, so I care how a page reads, converts, and earns trust, not only how it ranks. I would rather show you a screenshot and a plain report than a dashboard built to impress. The technical build, the structured data and site engineering, is handled by Anton Byvsev, an engineer with 20+ years of experience and open-source work you can check on GitHub and npm. When something is not working, I tell you.

Every page I publish carries my name, and my profile links to where you can check my background and past work.

Test your own site in 30 seconds

What are the best med spas in [your city] for [treatment]?

Check 1, booking: open your site on your phone. Can you reach the booking flow from the first screen in one tap? If not, start there. Check 2, AI: paste the prompt into ChatGPT. If your clinic is named, note why. If it is not, look at who is named instead and what evidence the answer uses. One run is only a spot check; our Snapshot repeats the test in fresh runs and reports it as named in X of N.
